if the account has a password, you still need to login, however if you run the user accounts gui and uncheck "Users must enter a username and password to use this computer" and enter the username and password of a local user account at the pop up box / dialogue box then the computer logs straight in with the local user account credentials. The local user account is still needed to login.

You cannot hit the windows button for instance and see the start s a bit like kiosk mode i guess. When windows starts, the desktop, taskbar etc etc, is not loaded. We replace the windows shell (explorer.exe) with out own application.

I have also tried setting up Backup and Sync to run via windows task scheduler, but again, this is not working either. I just did a basic type of setup, although as the local user account does not have a password, i set the service to use hte local system account. I can create a service using nssm and I can see it is running, but the files in my google drive do not sync. I have been looking over the net to try and work this out, but have not had any luck. I am now trying to get Google Backup and Sync to run as a service, however it is not working.
On a computer in our office, we have replaqced the windows shell with an application.
