The whole game is all about saving this cute little town from the evil corporation Joja Mart, but the gameplay mechanics are a lot deeper than you might initially think. Players will create a male or female farmer who tends to their crops and livestock, and also socializes with the townsfolk to form genuine bonds and maybe even a romantic relationship. Developed solely by Eric Barone (though he now has support from Chucklefish), the game takes many cues from the Harvest Moon series and its older entries. If, for some reason, you haven’t played Stardew Valley yet, now’s the perfect time to do so. It also released on Switch earlier this year.
